Fontana Planning Commission considers warehouse expansion near schools

In the Inland Empire region, the Safe Routes Partnership joined four local non-profit organizations to author a coalition letter raising concerns over warehouse developments near schools and homes. The coalition letter highlighted concerns over a environmental impact report regarding the development of the Fontana Southwest Logistics project expansion in Fontana, California.

California Legislature Passes Transportation Funding Package Including $1 Billion for ATP

Yesterday the California Senate and Assembly passed the long-gestating transportation funding package after a long debate. Senate Bill 1 will provide 10 years worth of funding for transportation improvements across the state, including $1 billion in new funding for the Active Transportation Program.

Orange County Cities Partner Up to get Residents Moving

As part of SCAG’s ongoing Go Human campaign, the cities of Santa Ana, Westminster and Garden Grove, along with leadership from County of Orange District 1 Supervisor Andrew Do’s office, recently held Redefine Hazard Avenue. The event brought a temporary bike lane to what is a corridor where cyclists and pedestrians normally feel unwelcomed.
