The Safe Routes Partnership and UC Berkeley Safe Transportation Research and Education Center (SafeTREC) are accepting applications for the next round of the Safe Routes to School Launch Program in 2019! We are looking for three California communities eager to move to a new level of safety and support for students walking and rolling to school.

The Safe Routes to School Launch Program, a joint project of the Safe Routes Partnership and SafeTREC, is designed to improve safety by starting and strengthening Safe Routes to School programs in California communities. Since 2017, the intensive program has provided workshops to ten communities to help them build Safe Routes to School programs. We are now offering this opportunity to three more communities. At the end of the program, you will have an Action Plan to guide your implementation and safety efforts.

This year we are offering two options: an in-person Safe Routes to School community workshop and action planning session, or a virtual Safe Routes to School training curated for your community.

Interested in applying for the Safe Routes to School Launch Program for your community? Learn more on our webpage and read about past program successes on our blog. Please complete the interest form and submit to Michelle at michelle@saferoutespartnership.org to by Thursday, March 28, 2019.

Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
