1. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law: What You and Your Community Need to Know

Looking to build safer streets, better bike lanes, and walkable routes that connect people to where they need and want to go? New federal funding is available for your community to layer on top of existing state and local sources! Join the partners of the Intersections Initiative (America Walks, the League of American Bicyclists, and Safe Routes Partnership) to learn about new federal programs for walking and biking infrastructure, the upcoming opportunities you need to know about, and the initial steps you can take to prepare your community to apply for funding.  Register here.

2. Curbing the Car Loop: Making Arrival and Dismissal Work for Everyone

It’s the best of times. It’s the worst of times. That’s right, we’re talking about school arrival and dismissal! Join us for this webinar as we discuss how to tackle these tricky times of the day. We’ll explore arrival/dismissal observation protocols, school street activations, demonstration projects, and creative ideas to encourage more walking and rolling. Register here.

3. The Rules Around Lobbying and Electoral Activities for 501(c)(3)s

Political advocacy can be a nonprofit's strongest tool for enacting change, but the rules of how 501(c)(3)s can get involved in lobbying and electoral activities can be murky This webinar is a refresher for 501(c)(3) non-profits that will go over: the definition of direct lobbying, grassroots lobbying, and electoral activities; what 501c3s are allowed to do; and how to report that activity. Register here.

4. Checking in on TAP Implementation

The beginning of the year is always a great time to review where your state stands in implementing active transportation programs. Are you leading the way in funding or are you missing the mark on walking, biking, and Safe Routes to School? Read our new federal policy blog to check to see if your state is one of twenty states at risk of lapsing funding this fiscal year and what you can do about it.

5. Power Up Your Advocacy with a Story

Stories have the ability to connect us to our families, communities, and humanity as a whole. How we tell those stories can bring us together and bring us to solutions. In our new Safe Routes to Parks blog, we illustrate the power of storytelling through our shared experiences of walking and biking.  Read about how stories from community members can inform decision-making and share your stories with us using #SRTSstory.

7. Moving Matters for Your Health – Now In Spanish!

The Moving Matters campaign, part of the Active People, Healthy Nation℠ initiative, helps promote the benefits of physical activity, encourages people to find small ways to incorporate movement into their day, and reminds people that physical activity can be fun. Campaign resources are now available for use in English and Spanish to encourage Black and Hispanic women between the ages of 18 through 44 years old, including moms, to become more physically active. Visit cdc.gov/MovingMatters to learn more about the campaign and explore ways to get moving.
