As a creative and analytical thinker with a strong background in public relations and media strategy, Christina Van Allen enjoys all aspects of the storytelling process.
Before moving to Florida, Christina worked with Georgia-based economic development programs, including Athensmade and the Georgia Department of Economic Development, to manage and create content. In 2016, she was the assistant director of the Cause + Effect Film Festival in Athens, Georgia - a statewide film festival promoting a progressive south.
In Florida, Christina managed communications and outreach for animal rescue organizations by establishing community events, diversifying and increasing public awareness, and creating campaigns on safe adoption practices and increasing the healthy pet population.
Before becoming a part of the Safe Routes Partnership, she worked at the Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR). As the communications director, Christina crafted strategies and messaging to elevate brand awareness and research initiatives and managed comprehensive communications campaigns at the local, state, and federal levels. She also acted as the National Institute for Congestion Reduction (NICR) communications director.
Christina is extremely passionate about digital preservation and the public domain. She also has an affinity for Steven Spielberg, camping, and every single dog.
Christina holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from Columbus State University and a Master of Arts degree in journalism from the University of Georgia.
